Goodbye to an old friend

First time out this year and an old favorite near shore platform was gone.
Mark it off your charts. The 432 platform about 180 degrees and 28 miles out of Freeport is gone. I looked around with my sounder and it seems they cleaned everything up real good. The smaller 431 platform is still nearby but never was as lucky for me as the 432.

Isn't there talk about changing the law and allowing spent rigs to stand? Maybe Earl can help us on this one-he seems to know a lot about production platforms.

Nope I don't know alot bout the regular production rigs. There is a plan to get rid of hundreds if not thousands of them and it seems their goal is to totally remove them like this one instead of making reefs. And there is much proof that even topling them while better than nothing, drastically harms the ecosystem that was there.

Sorry, to hear about you favorit spot. I made out Sat. with a few friends and caught a limit of AJ', 2 Lings one being 50-60lbs, and a few snaps. I was soaked, made me think about your Parker with the pilot house.

I wonder if CCA can help here. After all, I think the biggest donors to CCA are the likes of Valero and other oil companies. It makes you wonder why millions are spent to sink old warships, but the ecosystems that incidently develop at oil platforms are going to be removed.
