Info. on FL. Keys

Hey, I'm looking for info. and any personal experience that ya'll have had with the Florida Keys. I am looking to go somewhere "Tropical" next summer and I would simply prefer to spend my money here in the USA if possible. I also feel much safer here rather than in Mexico. I would appreciate any advice, information, and especially pictures that anyone could offer about any of the destinations in the Keys. I really want to make sure that the water is pretty and that it is at least somewhat comparable to someplace like the Mexican Riviera, Cancun, etc..... Let me know what you guys think.

We have been to Key West twice while on cruises and we really liked the place. Lots of action, women, motorcycles and bars. Thats all I know as I had to follow the group around shopping.

Went to Key West this summer and it was awesome. Great nightlife and excellent fishing. The water is beautiful and you can not run out of things to do and see. If you want to go somewhere not as touristy try Islamorada it is a great relaxing place with GREAT fishing.

Look into the resorts on Islamorada and Marathon Keys if your in it for the fishing. For partying then Key West would be the place to go.

Took a drive down US 1 from Miami 3 summers ago. Made it to the 7 mile bridge - a la "Conkytonkin" by Jimmy Buffet. Had to turn back to get back for an event at the hotel in South Beach. (Soapeddler will never again darken the doorstep of Miami or South Beach if he can help it).

I will be going back to the Keys for more. Absolutely beautiful. Ate dinner at a place in Key Largo(I think - it might have been Islamorada) called "Sundowner" where they post the exact time of that day's sunset and people sit out on the deck listening to good live music and applaud the sunset. That particular Friday night they had all you can eat fish - when we asked what kind of fish they said "Mahi Mahi" $9.99. It was awesome.

Also enjoyed going to Worldwide Sportsman. I think it is a division of Bass Pro. It's right on the water somewhere along there. Really cool store.

Didn't make it all the way down to Key West, but I fully intend to sometime in the future.
