Getting a New Dog!!!!!
Man, I'm stoked.
It's been three years since my dog Cowboy died and broke my heart. Swore I'd never get another dog, but this morning my wife(who also misses Cowboy said " why don't we get another dog so I'll have somnething to googoo besides you".
I'm having another Carolina Dog http://www.carolinadogs.org/ shipped here from S. Carolina soon as we make a decision and the pups are ready. This will be a little girl Carolina.
In case you're not familiar with these pups they are in the curr family along with Greyhounds and other dogs that have co-existed along side man forever.
This is a fairly pure strain of the American Dingo that crossed the bering straights with the origional Indians/Americans.
They're very cool but a bit aloof and are extremely loyal and pack oriented.

Congrats on getting a new pup. Hope she becomes a life long companion. Good luck with the puppy training too. Hopefully you will do a better job than me, I took a wrong turn somewhere, I think he takes after his master too much!!

Mont,
I had a little girl just like yours. Same markings etc. I called her Betti Davis! Amazing little pups.

Those dogs in the link look just like my Ginger. I was told she was a North Carolina Dingo. But I don't have any papers on her. She was found on the side of the road ( the only one of 3 that was alive after being dumped and run over.) I think she is the best dog I have ever had. Loves everyone and very loyal to me and my wife. Thes pictures were taken when she was about 1 1/2 years old. She is now a little over 2 yrs old.

LOL, if I hung my dogs up like that they'd go nutz. although she does go in the boat and loves to swim i dont think shed go for a wading bag. Cool how the dog gets to join you wading (I presume you were wading) pic i attached is from last year when we got the youngest 1.

Very cool, Kenny. Sounds like a neat adventure about to start. Can't wait to see some pics.

Coolchange,
We've been fighting the urge to get another pet by telling each other how much simplier life is without one. No shedding, no vets, no feeding , no boarding, not in the bed so we sleep better, can go in resturants, etc. BUT also NO LOVE and COMPANIONSHIP!
My daughter and grand daughter are in San Antonio so we can't see them enough for our fix.
These Carolina Dogs like Cowboy was are great. Don't bark much except when they should, pretty calm and not jumpy, don't require constant attention and petting, smart as a whip, etc.
