Saterday report
Went out Saterday morning with Jerry (Team Sponge) and Andy (Lord Baiter) Left bridge bait around 8:30-9:00 for some state snapper, ran about 7-8 miles to some lumps, anchored up and started catching. Caught a 3 man limit, as well as a number of juvie snaps, as well as 4 big bull reds (3 that came home with us) Funniest thing tho was we had dolphin all over the place, and at one point, Jerry has a line out, I looked over about the time his rod doubles over, he goes "Oh S--t" and on the other side for the boat, Flipper is going airborn. Yep, He hooked a flipper, first time I ever saw that happen, or see a full grown dolphin going airborn. Line snapped about the time we had realized what had happened. Great day on the water, 1 footers all day, kicking back a few cold ones, listening to some good tunes with friends catching some nice fish. Thanks again Jerry for the invite, Andy, nice seeing you again also. Onlything strange was the lack of boats out, only saw 2 or 3 others on a day I expected to see 30 or 40. agian, It was a Great day to be out, will be eating some snapper after the game tonite.

Just curious, what do you do with bullreds? The meat is not very good once they get big enough to be considered a "bullred". Plus, they start getting worms and parasites. I've tagged and kept one out of tons I've caught because I wanted to have one mounted. Turned out very nice. I've had it for about 5-6 years. Back then it was $9.50/inch X 37 inches, but it looks awesome.

I would eat one. they are pretty good in the 32-36" range, what the heck is the slot range on them now? is it 28"? anyhow if you catch them in the open water they seem to taste better than bay reds.

Charlie, you got that right, was a nice easy day on the water, no hurry, just having a blast. Wish it could have gone on forever. I think it was the best Saterday iI have had in 10 years.
