good luck. every time I've been there - the surface visibility was so cruddy that we kept going further offshore.

most of the time there are fishing boats on them by the time we get there - and we don't want to drop in in the middle of them (common courtesy)

when you can get on them - there are good fish. Look near entrances into the hulls for grouper. A friend of mine got one about 90# off the liberty ships a few years ago.

DO NOT enter the hulls without proper training and equipment.

I was looking more along the lines of someone giving heads up on currents and the lay out of the wreck.

There is also the "star reef" and Tenneco pyramids nearby. Currents vary as they do elsewhere in the gulf. I've seen clear water there, but last few times there it was murky from surface to bottom. Haven't been there in a couple years. I have some sketches of the wrecks somewhere... Have found most of the fish on the Fogg when I used to go there years ago... have never had decent vis since going to the Star Reef, and never seen the "resid" pyramids. Let me know if you still want more info and I'll try to dig it up, but I've been busy taking care of my folks lately and my internet response time is not real quick. Seems like I remember some sketches on the internet somewhere, so you might poke around. When there were more rigs in the Gulf, it was easier to chance a trip to the Lib. ships... since there were other destinations not too far away if vis on the Fogg was bad.

Liberty Ships ???

I fished with a guy here locally and said that we were fishing the liberty ships out of Port Aransas. Was he wrong? We were marking 2 big humps on the depth finder with one that looked like a ship upside-down. We caught some good fish there. If these were not the ships I need to get some #'s. because this was in the middle of no-where.
