Technic needed to mark pole of fish measue
First time poster, hope I get this right.
I wadefish the beach but with each new pole I have to learn the new spots for estimating the fish lengths. Maybe some of you use a technic to mark the pole with paint, glue, marker....I don't know a good way to do that.
What would you use to mark the spot for flounder, specs, and reds on your good fishing pole that does not damage but stays in place?
Thanks,
Rod

Rod Rul-R
I have one of these on all of my rods. Apply carefully, so you don't stretch it. Although if you do, it just means your fish is longer than the ruler says...

FTU, Marburgers, Academy all have them.
And, oh yeah, there are similar tapes to this one, made by a certain competitor that starts with a B - avoid, absolute junk that peeled off during first wade.

As part of my wade fishing belt/gear, I have a 1 x 2 (wood stick) with an aluminum yardstick glued to it. It has a lanyard and floats. It also serves as a walking stick if I have to rock hop. Last, if I have an encounter with jaws.....welll just sayin I ain't going down easy!!

I have used pin striping before, but you have to put a little glue on the end to keep them from unraveling.
