POC or Matty?

My brother wants to book a fishing trip for us and our girlfriends. I'm pretty sure he'll want to use bait so the girls will have a good chance of catching fish. We will be staying at our place on Carancahua, so we are open to Matty or POC. Which would you recommend for a chance at a better trip?

Thanks

Not sure why I can't edit that, but he would prefer to use croaker. Not sure if that makes a difference in choosing between POC or Matty.

Thx

Yes it does, no one sells croaker in Matagorda. Guides in Matty don't like useing croaker. Some are very voical that croaker fishing hurts the resource.

Are you sure about the no croaker in Matagorda? I fished a couple of times there last summer and bought croaker both times, about $10 a dozen. I can't speak for the guide part of this though.

You can buy croaker in Matty if they have it. But most of the time they dont. Like it was stated some of the guides dont like it.

POC would be better for croaker. Contact Capt. Doug Russell with Bay Flats Lodge, he is a very good guide and will put you on the fish.

We guide out of Matagorda and use croaker. The bait camps sell them in Matagorda but they don't always have them so we drive to Palacios to get ours. West matty has been on fire the last couple of weeks. East matty has been good as well when the winds not howling. We're pretty booked up till mid June, but if you decide on Matagorda you can give us a shout and checkout the latest reports at: http://www.run-n-gunadventures.com/r...e4a11257d66c04

Hit up run-n-gun. From Carancahua it is probably 1 1/2 hrs by car to POC. And Kelley Park probably has been booked 6 months in advance.
