My 1st Archery Duck

No kidding but do folks really eat those things ? Years ago they were "trash" birds. My dog wont even pick one up. And times they are a changing.

bucksnort I live just north of Spencer in Creekmont sub in Laporte, I here them all the time flying over the house going to the pond over by Walmart. My boss actually killed one several years ago that was banded on the refugee in Anauach (sp). The other day @ work I was on top of our railcars and there was a redtail hawk that was giving a pair of them hel_ on the pipeline ride away. Set there and laughed for about 10 mins at them and the hawk. Great mount also

they sit on the telephone wires near me in katy and we always called them mexican whistlers...

Thanks, that is pretty cool. Never seen them there but probably because I'm not paying attention. I am going to be on the look out now. I've seen plenty of ducks in the retention area of the median on Bay Area between Spencer and Fairmont but never saw any (Mexican) Whistlers, Squealers, Tree Ducks, Black Bellied Whistlers or Fulvous Whistling ducks. LOL. Or, as Charlie would say "Trash" ducks. No doubt they roam up in this area though. Charlie, is that dog of yours a duck dog? Just wondering because my yorkie won't pick them up either (grin)
