I recently purchased a new custom rod for myself for the 1st time in 50 years! I was so stoked about it a thing of beauty! Well on just the 2nd outing while wading on the 5th cast I reeled in and raised my rod to the 12:00 position to re-align my tount onto the jig head when all of a sudden SNAP!!!!!!! ***!

I could not nor did not want to believe what happened. I did not have the rod under stress or unneccesary stress but when I closely inspected where it snapped at the 2nd guide from the tip there were no indication of nicks or damage other than a frizzled fiber snap!!! Have any of you ever had this similiar thing happen to ya'll? Needless to say tried to make the most of my fishing trip and continued fishing but , well you know, I was heart broken and dejected I was just sick. What could have caused this and could this have been something with the blank itself/ Thanks...
