one of my favorite rod/reel combos is an allstar platinum 6'6" extra fast 1/8oz with bubble grip. Extremely lightweight with great power to handle oversize reds. Perfect for tops and tails and bought at academy for 70 bucks. Should've bought another when I had a chance. mated with a curado 50e and 20lb suffix 832.

Laguna Lt. TX Wader II, weighs 2.5 ounces. Pair that with a Shimano chronarch MG50, ridiculous!!! Can't get any better in my opinion. Beware though, they are addicting and you might get hooked like me, and keep ordering rods non-stop!!

Thanks, Kody! At Fish-N-Hunt, we have always made customer service our most important job and always strive to make every customer happy. CastAway's 25 years of sales, innovation and performance was very important to us when we decided to buy the company. Most impressive to us, though, was their attitude towards customer service. They endeared every philosophy of taking care of their customers that FNH does and that sealed the deal for us!

I have several All Star casting rods - love the action & price.
I have a few Castaway casting rods - like their action too, but they seem a tad heavy.
I have a Falcon spinning rod - it has great action, but I hate holding on to the threads of the reel seat.
I have several other rods not really worth mentioning like a Texas Slam, an Ugly Stick and some other misc. brands.
My newest rod is an Abu-Garcia Veritas Winch with med action and mf tip (pictured below). I had to cut the handle down for working lures, but it has great action and its ultra light. Cons....the only one I have is the diameter of the EVA grip. I'm used to holding thicker cork grips I guess. It is very similar to the Castaway Skeleton imho.
My next rod...... is probably going to be a Billy Stix Texas Wader Stix. The only reason I haven't bought one yet is because I'm a hands on kind of guy. I plan on visiting his shop to make my order some day.
There are lots of great rods on the market these days. Pick up as many as you can and see what FEELS RIGHT TO YOU.

After fishing with a 2.5oz rod this weekend, I found it hard to pick up a 4oz rod and enjoy using it. Once you step up and go with a quality rod, all others seem archaic.
