New pier light suggestions?

I lost one of my pier lights to the winds on Thursday night, so now I'm looking at replacing both of them. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also what's the deal with the green lights people are using these day? Not the underwater type, but the above water ones....are they any better? Please let me hear what you think

Thanks--Matthew

The green lights are REALLY good , but pricey. In my opinion we have 250w metal halide, its a white bright light. Thats what we have on our pier in Corpus Christi. Does wonders. IMO..

Any input on the Par 64 1000W Stage lights? If you are using these are they the outdoor stainless steel ones?

I have one but it is not mounted outside. It is the chrome one I believe. They are fairly cheap so it would not be bad to replace them if needed. My father in law totes two around fairly often and has not had a bulb go out yet. 2 fishing seasons.

I am a journeyman electrician in my opinion the par puts out a yellow light, that attracts bugs. Just me, but the metal haliade is what and you can see clearly in the water that attract bait fish. I know that they all work but the yellow light puts of a shadow also so when you need to re tie or anything its kinda hard to see. you can even do a 50w metal haliade that looks like a flood light that you can but at home depot fairly cheap..JUST ME..

Daughter has a place on the SBR. She uses two par 1000's. I have them fixed up where they are removed when we leave. They are the stainless type and work great and can be pivoted around depending where you need light.

What type of fixture are you using for those bulbs? Are the water proof, or resistant?

get a metal halide sports lighter with a narrow reflector. i have a 1500w that mounts to the back of my truck and it works great. possibly a lil overkill at that wattage though
