Rattles of no rattles
Does using a Rockport rattler or putting a glass rattle in your soft plastic tail really help?
I use RRs and glass rattles sometimes when the water is off color to add some noise to my bait so they can find it.
There have been days where i can tell it helped get more bites, but can't say definitively they out-produce a no-rattle presentation.
What's your take on if rattles actually help?

Rattle Battle
Like you say, it depends on the several variables, water color, wind, light conditions. Personally, I use small rattles only and often, none at all. Semi windy to windy, low light rattles and farily calm to calm good light no rattles. Put very small rattles in all my shop built floater divers and tops. Works for me. Truchas

I put the glass rattles in my DOA shrimp and it works great, I don't know where to get those Rockport rattles locally though and I really want some.

Anything that can add a little noise to your bait will help. I'm a big fan of chatter weights.

They are cheap and quick and if they give you an edge over the next lure, why not?

Troutslurp is a rockport rattler rep, hit him with a pm. Also google them and there are numerous stores that sell them. I have some weedless rattling hooks on the way, they look like a great product

Thanks Mac, I'm down here by South padre island. I think I'll order some online if I don't find them where Google says they are. I didn't even know they made a weedless, reasons to buy just keep going up lol
