I need some advice with braided line- leaders
I'm using sufix 20lb braid and i've been hearing that alot of people use leaders. If you do, what lb of mono or fluoro do you use? Also what knot do you use to tie them together?

i aint got the money for that flouro... 10 bucks for fifteen yards of leader material. what mac said. big game is the sheet. i usually get 15 though so i can still bite through it, but have fished with 20 before. i used the albright, until Tobin from Trout Support showed me a sweet little knot that he came up with on his own. i like it because it the tag end of the mono points the opposite direction as it goes through the guides when you cast... slips through much easier. and strong as hell.

I go with 20 or 30 lb mono or flouro and a blood knot. Mono for tops and flouro for pretty much everything else.
This is a great video for how to tie a good blood knot. If you tie it right, it's 100%, and small enough to pass guides easily:

20-30 Seagar flouro to 30 suffix. 6 foot leader with an improved Albright. No bumpy connection. Has the highest strength. Ya some say it's hard to tie out on the water...some practice and a 6 pack of Lonestar light and you're a pro.

Don't buy fefteen yards spool with fluorocarbon, buy spool with 200yds,about $20 and you have leader for one year or more years.

30lb fluorocarbon and 8,30 power pro. The leader will break before the braid so you don't lose lots of braid. I've tried 20# fluorocarbon and after 4 or 5 fish it's really frayed and in need of re-tying, 30# holds up much better and the fish don't seem to mind. I like the Alberto or Albright because the leader tail faces forward and won't catch grass or trash on retrieve. I always leave my knot out of the eyes so hanging up is not a problem. Whichever knot you decide to use practice at the house and get comfortable with it before you go out, make sure you wet it with spit before you jam it up.

I bought 200 yard spool of 20lb Seagar flourocarbon for $10 and I just use a uni-uni knot because it's easy to tie. I've not had any issues with the knot hanging in eyes or breaking, even had to break off a snag and flouro broke in the middle and knot held. I use about 6' of leader so I can cut and retie a bunch without the leader getting too short.
