Galveston Bay has been plagued by strong outgoing tides in the evenings, making floundering very difficult. The fish are concentrated in small pockets, and not where you might expect to find them. The average size of flounder this year has been outstanding with a normal fish going 17 1/2". Stingrays are beginning to appear all over the bay, not as bad as previous years but still enough to make you watch your step. Tides cycles are beginning to improve, and the next few weeks should be great for gigging.
