San Bernard Hot Spots Anyone??
A buddy of mine just purchased a 22 Fishmaster. He has a house on the San Bernard about 3 miles north of the 521 Bridge. We will be embarking on the 1st fishing trip for both of us on the San Bernard next Saturday. Does anybody have any suggestions of where we might fish?

depending on the weather, which isn't supposed to be that pleasant this weekend, I would also try the ICW especially the mouth of Cowtrap. If you don't know how to get into Cowtrap don't go in it because the oysters will make one heck of a mark on you buddy's boat. Been down there quite a bit lately and haven't really done really that well. Also on the ICW, with the work goin on at the Brazos river locks there are a lot of barges waiting for them to let them through so barges are backed up past the Bernard river at times.

tell the wives you are going fishing, after you go under the 2611 bridge hang a quick right and drink beer all day at the high five, head home before dark and let them know the fish weren't biting

When my Dad was a teenager (30 years ago), him and some family friends would fish on the East side of the river, between the ICW and the first bend down river from the ICW. There's a ledge that runs parallel to the bank (from what I was told), and they would tear up the flounder. We fished the same area a few years ago, and the amount of bait in the water was ridiculous. Naturally, we didn't catch anything ha ha!

Mouth of Mcneil up to about redfish cut, mouth of the river, mouth of cowtrap, mouth of oilfield, mouth of blowout hole. Just about all of the "mouths". However, in the right boat with someone knowledgable of the area, with the right tide you can venture back into Mcneil, Cowtrap, Jones and all of the Cedar lakes but it will take a long time to learn without a local to show you.
