Laguna Custom Rods
So it is kinda strange that there is already a Waterloo Rod thread, but I swear it's coincidental!
It just so happens I got to pick up my new Laguna Rod today from the shop, and I'm stoked! I can't say enough about Sarge, and the job he does with making works of art, or tools of the craft! He takes these hair brained ideas about being able to not only balance a rod with no lure, but being able to balance one with a Corky hangin' off the end! The fact that it actually works is the coolest thing.
He's got a customer for life in ole #5 that's for sure!
Thanks again man, I really appreciate everything you did!

Thanks Bro!
Yeah I missed having my old one, but this is on their new blank as well. Light as can be is no joke, this set up with reel and line is 11 oz...flat...weighed it today before I left.
This Jonesin' thing just went to a whole new level...I need to get a line wet NOW!

Yeah! It's a little easier to show than to explain...I have about 3/4 to 7/8" of play back and forth, but moving the main mass...which is the reel gives you a better CG and creates the fulcrum for casting all day with less fatigue.
Oh and we'll go a pluggin' that's for sure...I free'd up my old rod for soaking bait in a cut and drinkin' beer!
We need to chat soon Mac.

Thanks Stix! I appreciate that.
It's a little strange, but the functionality is pretty cool.

Sarge is awesome at what he comes up with ... that rod is way sweet ... I have mine on the way ... we use Laguna exclusively in our boats and I can tear up a bowling ball with a feather .... but his rods have held up thru it all

Nice Horizon!
That's what rolls in mine....the Laguna's do take a beating, but the action on this stick is just nuts...all I can say is I can't wait to take this one for a spin!
Who are the Laguna nuts on this site anyway...I think we're usually a quite bunch?

Im a fellow Laguna nut. Just picked up a new rod from Sarge back in Feb. at the fishin show, its been dubbed the "barely" rod... the rod itself weighs 1.9 oz. and coupled with a lews tournament pro spooled up with 20 Powerpro the whole rig weighs in the neighborhood of 7 to 8 ounces..love it...this thing is a freakin dream..not to mention Sarge is a real pleasure to work with, hes a no BS stand up dude. Got to test out the new rod just this past weekend in POC and it handled quite a few top water reds easily....just about had my poor super spook destroyed by a jack that same morning with that rod....in one sense I was relieved he missed the plug but in another I was half temted to put it to the test....one day. Fish ON!
