Texasflag4 Marsh Works - Bayou Thumper?

I have been eyeballing these in the store for a while now and I was just wondering if anyone's been using them. Are you having any luck? What kind of retrieve works best? What size jig head are you using? I picked up a pack of Voodoo Brew yesterday. I think they'll produce some fish in the stained water I've been fishing. Tight lines!

I use that color on my gold spinnerbait with a rockport rattler jighead for redfish.

Have had some shows and stuff this week, so this is the first chance I've had to check 2cool in awhile. The 4" Bayou Thumper is my absolute favorite soft plastic to throw! Very versatile and soft but has a nice heft to it so you can cast it in even the windiest conditions.

I like to throw it on a 1/8 oz. Bull Red jig head or a Mustad swimbait hook. The majority of my success has come by just casting and reeling it back, slow and steady. Let that big ol' tail take over and do the work for you!

Big fish love this bait! If you're in a more finesse situation or want to "match the hatch", try out the 3" Bayou Thumper as well.

I've used them quite a bit and the softness is an issue once you catch more then one red on them(they get torn up pretty easily). However, the softness is a catch 22 in that it allows for alot better action in the tail over a DOA paddle tail. Good all around swim bait though.
TxAdam is right, the softness allows for a nice slow and steady retrieve with that tail still wagging to get the red's attention.

I like to use them on the swim bait hooks. They should produce in the stained water with the bigger paddle tail and just the over all bigger profile of the bait will help it stand out.
