jerk trout

Thought I'd try painting a trout pattern. This is a MegaBass Vision 110 that I foiled and painted. Definitely one of the hardest I've tried because of the fading colors.

Little Trout

I sure like your paint job on this bait. You really have a gift of visualizing colors and patterns in fish. Have you ever considered fish taxidery, boy the fishing community could sure use someone who can really do good replica fish. There are more and more fishermen that are doing replica's of their fish. There sure aren't very many taxis that I know of who can really duplicate colors on replica trout. Redfish yes, trout no. wos

Nice!

Would you share your technique? I've played with an air brush before and would like some basic hints for a beginner. What do you mean by foiled, by that, what method?

Thanks for any comments.

Thanks for the compliment, man, but, you are giving me way too much credit for artistic talent. I guess maybe I could paint a fish by just pretending it was an over-sized jerkbait.

i think it looks better than most trout mounts! You should try taxidermy! Seems like every trout mount is just white and no fading of colors which is why I choose to release my big girls
