I had my favorite Rod/Reel stolen from my campsite once while I was in my camper taking a nap. They left three and just took the best one. One of my friends five campsites over saw an Escalade drop off two kids earlier to walk down to the water and fish. We figured it had to be those kids. I flagged down a cop that was making his rounds through the park and made a complaint. He said they probably couldnt find the rod/reel but they would keep their eyes peeled. Well later they saw a pearl Escalade and pulled them over. Two nervous kids were in the back seat. He asked them where they were going and the parents said to pick their kids stuff up from where they were fishing earlier. The cop separated the kids and one of them admitted to stealing the rod/reel. It was already back at their campsite. The parents said they knew nothing about it. I'm sure a $225 combo just blended in with their $30 ****. I pressed charges on the kid. He was already wearing an ankle monitor. Apparently he hadnt learned his lesson.

I went to one KOA campsite in Lake Conroe. One morning I took two combos out and was going to fish. I left those at the door and went in to **** and grep some drinks. When I went back out (10 min later). My Gloomis/Shimano combo was gone. I went nutz.
I walked around to ask if anyone saw a fishing combo.
Sure enough, about 100 yards from my condo, a teenager (11-12) was fishing. I came to him and there was my combo. He told me that he found it on the grass (***?). Well, I was so glad to see my combo again and nice enough just to tell him that "NEXT TIME, DO NOT WALK OFF WITH PROPERTIES THAT DO NOT BELONG TO YOU".

15 years ago, I got cleaned out. Rods, tackle boxes, nets, lawn equipment, hand and power tools, bikes, you name it. All gone.

Really stinks ! Sorry you have to go through this.

A couple years back I was leaving/loading the truck heading out of a hotel in Port Isabell and had my tackle bag (one and only, really stuffed) just outside the room door with my truck running. I literally walked in to the room to get my bag or whatever (15 seconds) and some crack head snagged my chit. 15 or more years worth of stuff in that dam thing.
