I have a friend that will be traveling to North Carolina Outer Banks toward the end of this May, and he was wondering what to do as far as fishing. He is looking at possibly taking an offshore trip, but is also interested in finding out where to wade fish and what lures would be best to you use in that area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Surf fishing isn't bad. Blue fish, red fish, and occasional shark. They think it's really special that in some areas you can actually drive your truck onto the beach.
I was over there this past fall. Over by the Coast Guard station at Oregon Inlet there is a nice salt grass flat i've seen people wading with some decent reds. I fished it from shore and only managed a couple smaller trout. There is also quite a few big time offshore guides down that way as well.
