in a 14' jonboat I'm guessing you are fishing in the bays? You may get better response in the "general fishing forum"

lots of hardcore bayfishermen in that area

Put in at swan lake....just past Perry's convenient store...and once you get into the icw you can either go left and fish swan lake, fish the point right where up opens up into the icw ib the west side......or go right and go into the old intracoastal and make your way down where it opens up into drum bay and fish the mouth of that.....orrrrr you could run down to nicks lake (take a right in the icw if you put in at swan lake) and fish the mouth of that or the channel itself....orrrrrrrr go to east union, many options

Go to Academy and buy a Top Spot map. That will show you where all the bays and cuts are.The places Mud Minner mentioned are excellent spots to try and are reachable with the boat you have.
