Uuuuuuh, were sparkle beetles made in a local Texans garage and then carried to Louisiana ... ? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they were.

And let me tell ya pods. I was born and raised in Thibodaux and went to school in Lafayette, and I've seen WAY more croaker soaked in Cocodrie and Dularge than I've ever seen soaked on the Texas coast.

Who cares what bait a fish is caught on? Yall soak croaker like its a religion in Texas and we fish Artificial more than any lake around...Any given day 75% of the fisherman are using artificial baits not Live

I saw were someone wanted to make croaker a game fish so you could not fish with them...I almost lost a lung when I read that , but like always I just keep to my self unless our great lake gets brought into a jealousy battle

Then wait till the croaker craze comes to a lake near you. Add the 50+ boats that might be fishing with it, and you'll soon see what I mean. Nueces was in a pretty good recovery mode after the freezes and then the croaker craze hit. The fishermen and guides wiped those sows out in a matter of 2 years....hasn't been the same since. I grew up fishing mirrolures, so I'm not a fan of croaker soaking....they are good to eat when you catch them runnning tough!!

This is what Nueces produced a year before the first big freeze. We really didn't know too much about conservation back then as you can see, but the fish were so plentiful, we didn't worry. All caught on mirrolures btw....hope the pic shows up!!

I grew up down in Louisiana. Its just different. Louisiana has cut back through the years. Texas has just done it more. I remember as a kid we would fill the ice chest up with trout, no one cared what size they were or how many. Louisiana did have to make changes and the ones they made have worked great. Fish all over have rebounded. I do have to disagree with you Speck daddy on one thing. Those people down in Louisiana eat sheaphead. They eat anything, because its food on the table. I use to sell Grinnel to people for my shrimp money.

There has to be a happy medium, bass fishermen throw everything back yet many salt guys keep everything. Honestly, I rarely catch 25" plus trout so we keep them if we catch one. Just sayin'

I dont know about yall, but I would like to get in the line to get this man's autograph.

I promise you, the **** you LA people put up with Texas fishermen is NOTHING compared to the **** we put up with daily from those fine citizens you LA people sent over here after the storm.

Big Lake smells like a rancid grilled cheese sandwich.... Oh, and yall have pink dolphins... You win.
