Crappie on Conroe Yesterday

Went solo to find some crappie. Had some great looking minnows. Tried by the dam. Tried the 1097 bridge and them ran north and into the creek channel first on the left. There I fished the tree stumps. I had no idea those stumps are in 18ft of water. I tried shallow and deep. Only 1 nice catfish the whole morning. Great day to be on the water. I did not see anyone else catch a fish.

I launched the boat and wanted share a technic I think Matt told me about. I tie a 75ft rope to the front of my boat and to the truck with the rope in the back. Ease the boat into the water and hit the brake. The boat moves off. Pull the trailer up so you don't get out into the water. Get the rope from the truck. Pull the boat over to the dock and tie it off. If you do it right the boat is already heading for the dock. I couldn't have 5 people helping and do better.

Getting the boat back on should also be just as easy. If you park the trailer just right the boat pulls all the way ups and you just attach the winch. Step from the boat to the truck and just pull it out. I also helps to be able to drive a boat and hit the trailer on the first shot.

Keep to one side so others can launch!

If your waiting on me you might want to look behind you. I am already parked and putting the reels away

Glad you got out on the lake Gofish2day, the weather has not been all that great for catching fish, but wonderful for being outdoors!

Great effort Karl... Conroe can be stingy sometimes. I always launch my boat that way, when I'm by myself, with an inexperienced fisherman, or with the wife. There's something about the sight of my truck sinking down into the water, that I choose not to take a chance with. LOL For an inexperienced boater, there is the element of panic involved, sometimes. Nice going, Karl!, and I'm sure you still had fun, on the water

The boat ran great. This was the first time out since you and I broke it

Nice day on the water but Conroe is staring to get crowded.

Good report there are alot more boats on the water now that the lake has come up, and all the boat ramps are open. I took this picture today at April plaza marina, the parking lot was full.

Can you just imagine that moment, that the lake comes to normal level, and every Go Fast Boat in Lakeview's storage units, and all others on the South End, decide to hit the water??? Now, thats very scary!

Hairout

Be very careful at April Plaza. I Had 2 tackle boxes stolen from there out the boat two times. DO NOT LEAVE UR STUFF!

Loy I will spare the details for the 20th time.

I will get even &^$$#%&&^%$$!

If your a thief, I would not take anything out of a 19ft kenner. YOU will not see your family that night

I fished all the same areas minus the north end. I cast netted live shad from around the pillars on 1097 bridge then went to party island and landed a couple of nice hydrids in the 3 lb range. They were holding around 20 on the edges on the 40 plus foot drops.
