I really like the Tour Star grips but beware they won't stretch as moch as EVA. You might have to ream them some. I think it is the outside cover that keeps them from stretching more. Of course the outside cover will make them more durable.

Nice work, I really like the Tour Star grips myself, they feel great in the hand and they are pleasing to the eye.

I've been looking at those grips but I'm wondering if I would forget where I was and swing a rod with those grips like a golf club. (grin) They do look good.

I really like these grips and Pat your right, sometimes you have to ream the grips depending on the size of the blank, It is very easy to do with a regular reaming tool. I will use a caliper and measure the blank at the top of the grip and bottom and then mark my reamer with tape so I dont over ream the grip, also I glue the grip to the reel seat first and glue and install them in one piece from the tip down. The butt cap I ream with a drill bit.I just wanted to share this info so maybe it will help the builders that are using them for the first time. FYI I'm no expert but they are easy to install. These are Rods number 4 and 5 that I have ever build so I'm new to rod building.

That is a good thorough explaination of the best way to do it.

I weighed them next to a like piece of cork and they were the same in weight. I want to say .25 for the 4.5" piece.

BTW, nice looking builds!
