winter trout in lavaca river

went fishing in lavaca river 2/14/tue , fished plugs and soft plastics,fished about one mile up river , reefs @ mouth of river, under causeway in lavaca bay, came up with zero, plenty of porpoises working whole area, [did not see porpoises here until salinity increased from drought] talked to a man at boat ramp , he caught 2 keepers, trout, fishing 5 miles up river using glow/chart.bass assasians he has been fishing river quite a bit this winter. tight lines.God bless.

As the water warms, the fish will be moving back out the bay. Earlier in the year the fish were found way up the river from the mouth.
