But, he had serious ball security issues in practice and in games. Thus, he was in the dog house for various periods last year. When Whaley went down, I thought he was going to be the guy, but Clay and the Bug performed significantly better in practice, so B. Williams was on basically clean up duty. Hence, the somewhat inflated numbers.

Plus, he was looking at very little prime time on the field next year if Whaley comes back healthy. The measurables on Whaley were in the Adrian P. range (40 times, verticle leap, long jump, various lifting categories.) So, B. Williams was looking at his third year (barring injury) before he was likely to be the feature back. Even then, he would have to beat out B. Clay, another highly recruited RB that is a year ahead of him. As such, he potentially was looking at his fourth year before he was the go to guy at that position (assuming some other superstar does not appear.)

All this is tough on these young kids that have simply dominated in HS and Jr. High. Its a real blow to their ego when they think they are the next coming of Jim Brown, and then they are riding the pine and looking at real playing time only in a couple years. Delayed gratification is not typically their strong suit.

So, nothing new. Guys transferred out when Adrian P. appeared as a super freshmen a few years back.

I wish B. Williams the best of luck at where ever he lands. I understand he has a daughter living in Texas, and I'm sure it would be nice to be close to her and her mother.

Dayum! What color is B. William's dog?? Wonderlic test score? Daughter's middle name?

If Williams is leaving for more playing time, good for him. If he's transferring to be near his daughter, good for him. Either way, he's out of Goonerland.

Tom, the Aggies need to treat White with a very jaundiced eye. He was became a big problem when he was passed on the depth chart by other players who were doing better. He was facebooking and twittering his displeasure. The final straw was when he conducted some negative recruiting while talking to Dorian Green Beckham. Some of the players caught wind of what went down, and Antwan Cobb got up in his face about it (I posted it was Amard Howard by mistake). He had zero good credibility with the team and coaches after that. He's talented--very talented--but I wouldn't trust him.

CG,
Sounds like some good advice.

I would never doubt the kid's talent...there was a reason LSU, OU, aTm, UT, Florida, and just about everyone else recruited White. He's just very immature. Maybe you \guys can man him up.

If you can bring him around, he and Williams will help you turn around much faster than not.

What you guys REALLY need is a defense that can match up with the rest of the conference. Sumlin needs to find a stud DC.

You sure he's a running back?
He acts like a cornerback or receiver.

CG I agree with you on keeping a close eye on him. I would venture to guess that every single player on Texas' team could start on some other college team....maybe not Florida or Alabama etc. but they get the cream of the crop and those 2 and 3rd teamer's could start if they didn't necessarily care to play on an upper echelon college team like Texas. Most of those studs in high school probably go to college with the mental mindset that they are the best and don't want to sit behind anyone....especially if they are 5 star players. That being said maybe if the kid gets to play his attitude will change...I am not saying its right...just saying that is how some of these kids act. Heck I see it in the jr. high and high school levels.

Then again...he could be just a flat out bust at the college level...happens all the time.

White is very raw. I loved in high school, but it was obvious that he got by on sheer talent. At the college level, that isn't enough. Maturity wise, though, he's Javorski Lane all over again.

What hurt Texas last year was there were a lot of kids that they recruited that believed that since they were at Texas they were superstars who would automatically get on the field. There weren't enough leaders who could set them straight. When the @@@@ got @@@@@@-up, there was no one to pull everyone together. The sense of entitlement killed a sick program. Maybe the Aggies have enough on the receiving corps to reel White in.

By the way...We cool, yes?

CG...I told you I had no problem with you all along and still don't. You and I can agree on things and disagree on things but we have always been respectful about it.. and you hit the nail on the head with Javorski...I don't understand why some of these guys think they know more than their coaches....Javorski could possibly have had an attempt at a fullback career somewhere which I am sure pays more than flippin' burgers instead of eatin' them!!
