Egg Harbor Sportfish??

I'm thinking about picking up a 72-83 30' or 33' FB Sportfish. The boats I've seen look to be in great shape for thier age. And the boat people I know say they are solid in construction, but I need more opinions on ride, practical layout, etc. All opinions, thoughts & comments are appreciated!

I know this board is full of CC full-on fishing folks, but I want something the wife might want to go out on.

My current boat is too small for anything but really nice days.

Thanks Ya'll!

Scott

I like Egg's but give my a 31ft Bertram. It's like owning an old corvete in the fishing world but I sure like to fish from them.

Egg Harbor has a reputation as a well built boat. I think they had some problems with water intrusion flybridge rot during those years. I fished on an older 36ft. several years ago, and from what I remember it was a very wet ride. A good survey should find any proplems.

Hello vee, I actually go to ride on 83, 34' or 35 Egg when I was boat shopping I liked it because it had allot of space in the back however, the fly bridge is closer to the bow as compared to a 84 34' silverton that I currently own, I eventually went with Silverton convertible and enough room for 5 to 7 anglers in the back and plenty of room on the inside, the silverton is a heavier and slower boat than the egg, oh well we'll just leave earlier.

Always heard the Eggs have a problem with leaking around the windows, other than that, should be pretty solid boats.
