I haven't fished Wheeler, but it is probably the same as Wilson, or Pickwick. Or even the rest of them. The thing is to get used to the peculiaritys of the place. Each discharge area has its own personality, and if you don't figure it out, you will swear never to return, but when you do, you will catch fish out the wazoo.

I agree with Mudcatt, I haven't fished below Wheeler in several weeks...but they were really stacked up down there during all the rain, we caught 55 Cats on a half day trip, including a 20 & 40 lber.......Guntersville dam is where I have had more success as of late and the fish are really feeding on all those shad......I seen a ton of channels feeding on shad on the surface below Wilson this weekend around the walls, but they weren't big enough to mess with much

Mike,
I can't speak for the rest of this wild bunch, but it's good to see you found your way back home :-)
