Restaurant in Houston to cook fish you caught?

I have searched online but can't find a restaurant that will cook fish that I caught in Houston. I had heard The Reef did it but apparently they do not do it anymore.

Your best bet is to be-friend a manager or owner of the restaurant of which you are wanting to cook your catch for you.

I currently have three restaurant's that do it for me, but only because I have been a long time customer and am friends with all the managers.

Take a restaurant manager fishing with you and you'll most likely be invited to join the "in house diners club"

This is the correct. I have 2 places that will cook my fish for me (doing it this Thursday, as a matter of fact.) Heck, one will even cook quail and fish - whatever I take him.

But, they only do so because I know the owner/managers for a long time. Been taking fish there for years and have brought a lot of friends, which = more return customers for the restaurant, so they take care of me.

I'm told it isn't really the health code problem but more that their insurance won't cover it if you get sick or something happens, and that is a risk most restaurants don't want to take. Your best bet is to find a mom & pop family owned establishment you like, and talk to them about it. No large chain places will do it.

I take extra fillets, which I leave with the chef/owner. A little extra tip they appreciate. Also, some country clubs will cook your fish for you, if that is an option.

My Chinese guy always asks me to bring in whole fish (head on), as he will make soup stock....but I seldom do - I just take a soft sided cooler of fillets.

Topwater Grill will do it. i think they charge $8, but it includes all the normal sides. You must prepare the fish though.

Stingaree restaurant on Boliver did this for us. Was awesome to catch some trout in easy bay and have 'em fried up just an hour or so later. We filleted them downstairs and turned 'em over. Came with all the sides and stuff, too. Was delicious.
