By the way, Volvo was sold to China by Ford, and some Buick models like Regal, have Chinese Transmissions in them, and are assembled in Germany, go figure, Auto manufacturers are piece milling there cars, buying mass parts from cheapest bidders, who may or may not be in business 2 years from now.
God that sucks so bad, what the hell does New York know about Texas sports and outdoors...Goodbye ammo and coolers hello ice fishing rods and yankee stuff. My guess is that they will change the name from Academy to something stupid like Northern Outfitters. and since they won’t be selling anything we need and or want they will go under... the only perk is that when Academy/Northern Outfitters goes under they might have a going out of business sale and we can go buy a lot of cool stuff.
Academy wont change much or at all as long as the #'s keep on rolling in. Most of these big firms will stay hands off as long as things stay good. Dick's and Cabella's are the only two retailer out there who could have a negative affect on Academy right now and the growth potential for Academy in the S.E. especially Florida is still great.
they're an investment group. Investment groups buy companies, strip 'em down to make them more profitable, resell 'em at some point down the road. The bean counters will be crawling all over Academy to find ways to cut costs, boost profits - it's what they do.
Berkshire Hathaway is basically an investment group/holding company and that is not their MO.
