I have a NO evacuee working for me at my plant right now

I'm inspired so I thought that I would share this. Off an on I use temporary laborers in my department. A guy showed up this morning and come to find out he is in Houston because he fled the storm. I asked him how he knew about this temporary agency and he said he found out the name from his sister-in-law that lives here in Houston. He said once he saw that there was no going back home for a while, he wanted to work. BTW his name is Chad and he could use your prayers. He has family that he has still not heard from.

That's good to hear. Help those that try to help themselves. I feel for the folks that have lost it all, BUT the "men" need to brush themselves off and do what they can to help their city and themselves. I honestly hope this will happen. I hate to hear a grown man complain about how nobody is helping him. I see pictures of the trash in the Superdome and it makes me wonder.

Different strokes....

Our office is supporting a shelter in Mont Belvue, and one of our girls went out today to see what they needed and deliver some of the donations. She came back and said the refugees had more or less divided the shelter up into "home areas". Each family and even the singles had a small area to call home, and they were keeping it very neat , clean, and well cared for and were helping the elderly close to them.
Now on the other hand we were told that volunteers were needed at the Astrodome TO CLEAN THE AREA AND THE BATHROOMS! TRASH WAS BECOMING A PROBLEM! Now my question is why are volunteers needed for housecleaning if there are 11,000 people in the dome?
