Jug "Snatchers"...

Does anyone use a boat hook or a gaff or a walking cane or anything like that to catch jugs,or do ya'll just do it the old fashioned way?

easy fix

I bought an 8' dowel rod from Lowes and one of those hooks for hanging plants around the house from the ceiling. Screw the hook into the dowel rod end, and viola, works like a charm for under $10

I use a screw-in push broom handle, with a piece of doubled over wire forming a hook off of the screw end.

Get a cheap hoe, one of those things you chop weeds in the garden with, break the blade off leaving just the hook looking thing. Just the right length for most boats.

coathanger/broomstick...

...sounds like a winner! My biggest worry with snatching a jug was being able to let it go again(if necessary, with a big fish)...a duct taped hanger sounds good(WOULD bend with extreme weight).Thanks,ya'll.

We use an 5 foot bait net, remove the net and bend frame into a hook, when hooking the juglines the line can be slide back over the end,
