gas tank leak and replacement help

Got a 1992 Mako with a 150 gallon tank. We have developed a major fuel leak in to the bilge. I think it is time to take the console off, take the deck panel out, and check and probably replace the tank and rigging for the fuel tank. The leak is not in the hoses that I can access, so I am assuming it is with the tank or a fitting at the tank.
Any advice or recommendations on trouble shooting or a shop to take the boat to?
Thank you in advance.

Poly tank? find leak first....crack in tank? clean good and try "IPS Weld-On 16" high strength solvent cement for joining acrylic....not cheap. I have a one pint can, barely used. Hitchcock area....PM....welcome to use some if its a crack in a "plastic" tank. Ed

just was around a mako 252 with a leak, bootom of tank was badly corroded and not repairable

the tank was well foamed in place

you have to remove the console and prob. de-wire part of it to move the console, then unscrew the deck

take the batteries out of the boat

cut all around foam at tank edge with a long knife
drain the tank , pull the tank out of the foam with a forklift or loader

make a new tank , reset.........

try suncoast tanks in Fla. for a quote

I take it that there is no ready access to the fittings (fill, vent & supply) on the current tank, which there really should be IMO. If there is not and you could determine the accurate locations of the fittings you might want to entertain breaking out the hole saw and installing some 'deck plates' there which would allow you access the fittings to pressure test the existing tank and prove it bad/leaking prior to 'tearing the boat apart'.

It's way more fun to tear the boat apart. It has been 4 years since I had gas in the bilge and maybe I'll get my boat in the water next month LMAO.
