drum Marshall Topwater 21'

I am looking at buying a 21' Marshall Topwater with a Suzuki DF-140... I would appreciate any thoughts/experience from anyone that owns or has been on a Marshall Topwater.

I have heard that top-end speed with the Suzuki 140 might be an issue with the 21' Topwater...

Thank you.

Dont know if this is a new or used rig but just from what I have run on the 140 Suzuki I would say get the 150 Suzuki if buying new. It's night and day because of the gear ratio and prop size on the 150 that makes it way better. Cant say I know anything about the boat to help you out there.

20 ft Marshall

I have a 20 ft Marshall 200 center console with a 150 ETEC.
engine runs great - i never go wide open.
Boat is rough if swells are one foot.
Features of boat are unparalleled. Nice and dry when running.
I put a "bow roller" on bow - it is worth its weight in gold....

We have 19' Topwater with a 175 carbed Johnson. Top speed is 46 with 2 guys.

I can't say enough about the boat. I LOVE IT! Everytime I get to use it, I get excited.

It runs smooth, for a shallow draft boat, runs shallow, carries a little speed, and is dry (I would recomend the raised console).

I'll be in POC the 19th through ??? If you'd like to come down for a test run, or want more info PM me and i'll give you my phone #.

I really can't think of anything I don't like about it. Well, actually, I would've put the livewell in front of the console, but that's it.

as for the rig you are mentioning.......the 140 will push it, but might be a lil light.

if the motor is proped right it will be fine, but as for speed you will not go very fast. i have a good friend who has the 140 on a majek redfish line and the top speed is about 40 mph. he cruses about 28 mph and gets very good mpg . so it all depends on what you want . if you want speed go max horse power , if you are looken for econmy go with the 140 but make sure its propped right cause that make all the diffrence.
