Unhappy Help, it's daylight and Tilt Stuck

I came in last night and out the motor all the way up as I exited a steep ramp. I went to my motor to put it back down for the haul home and the relays and motor is running but motor stuck all the way up. 99 Johnson 150. I know there must be a release, but can't find it. Fishing this AM if I can get it down or unstuck.

Thanks, Steve

release

usually, there is a manual release on either side of the brackets next to the trim an tilt. It will have an opening with an arrow pointing counterclockwise. You will need a slotted screwdriver and turn counter one turn and see what happens. you just dont want to keep turning and turning and pull the screw out. Once the engine is down(you may need to help it by putting your weight on it) tighten it back and try the switch again. Let me know what happens.

Pete

Tilt Stuck

OK Pete, I'm heading back outside. Looks like a late start for me. What seems funny just that one piston in the middle that lifts it up is just plain stuck. Motor is running, relays good just stuck for the first time. I'll let you know. THX

tilt rod

The longer one in the middle is the tilt rod and the two smaller ones are the trim. Sometimes that happens when you tilt all the way out, seems like the shuttle valve gets stuck. It may be that you are a little low on fluid.

Huh?

Are you sure you dont have the tilt locks down and it wont let the engine down? It may need some more turning of the manual release screw; it should go down. you need Trim and tilt fluid and in emergency you can use tranny fluid.
