Makeover

I purchased a 16' Dargel Skooter from a fellow 2cooler this year. I have been very pleased with the boat and Dave (Baystalker) was right about what this little boat can do; run shallow and catch fish. I decided that this boat needed to go in and get painted. I took it to Pete Perez in Donna. I am having him paint the hull, console, and two storage boxes seafoam green. the deck will be an off white with seafoam green splatter. I will post some photos after a few days when I go see the work in progress. I got inspired with Robul after he had his boat done. I started looking for one and I bought the one that was on the 2cool classifieds.

look forward to them photos. I seriously considered seafoam green on my build.. but didnt.. Are you going to paint the bottom white? He did that on mine and he did a very good job on the lines..

Robert, I am not going with a two tone on the bottom. I thought about it but decided to just keep it simple for Mr. Pete. He called me yesterday so that I could pickup the trailer. He already had that sucker upside down and looked like he sanded the bottom down. He also didnt like the way edge looked like (behind rubrail) and was going to redo all of it. This man does not waist time. I will be going over today; I will take my camera.

Dropped off the boat last Thursday. Mr. Perez called me to tell me that I needed to take the trailer back because he was ready to start on the top. The pictures don't show the color very well but believe me, it looks very nice in seafoam green. He is going to do the floor in an off white with dark green splatter. The console and the two boxes are going to be seafoam green too. i can't wait to see the finished product.

Hey that garage looks familiar!! There may even be some blue overspray on the floor somewhere from my boat!! Tell Mr Perez I said hi and I am very happy with my boat. I am still sending him customers I dont know how many he can take though!!

I bought that same boat from Baystalker in mid summer, then sold it back to him. GOOD little rig, looking good too!

Hi PTH, is he painting it or using gel coat? It looks really nice and I like that color alot. I can't wait to see the finished project. Where is he located?
