NEED ADVISE ASAP-- PASADENA LEO PREFERABLY, BUT ANY IS GOOD
A friend of mine had some jet ski's stolen from his house in Pasadena Friday. Well come to find out there was witnesses that seen it AND have a license plate number. They also said they could probably pick the guys out of a photo line up. When he contacted the P.D. back and told them all the info he had including all the info about the thief's they are doing nothing about it and there excuse was "they (the detectives i guess) don't work on the weekends." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What is the next step in getting something done instead of taking the law in his own hands?

Welcome to Pasadena, I saw my next door neighbors kid (2 houses down) running down my driveway. I have a detached garage it is probably 75' from the street to the garage. When I went outside, the side of my car had been keyed from front to back. I had just parked it and had only been inside my house about 15 minutes. A Pasadena detective came out, wrote up a report. When I called a couple of days later, the detective said that he had talked to the kid who denieded keying my car and it was basically my word against his. I got the impression that my car was not a big priority with him.
Cash out of my pocket to repaint.

Most don't. You will have to wait until the first of the week unless it is a serious crime (agg robbery, homicide, etc...) for a detective to come out. Patrol is already overrun in most cities anyway, and cases that can't be solved quickly (meaning within the shift) get forwarded to CID in most instances. Patrol can't afford to get backlogged with cases, and keep getting new ones everyday. CID can, cause they have more time to devote to a particular case.

I had a trailer stolen when I was staying in Baytown and the Pasadena police called me not a day after I reported it gone. They had found it. And had the guy in jail that stole it from the guy that had stole it from me.

You don't honestly think this is the only case they have to work, do you? I know it sucks, but I'm sure they probably have many more cases that might be a little higher priority to work on. Not trying to belittle the situation, but try and understand the workload they have.
Our CID department gets on average around 30-40 new cases a week.
