If that doesn't do it for you, look into a trip to Virginia Beach in December. I can recommend a couple guides. The big striper invade the lower chesapeake bay.....

My biggest is 25lbs caught last year, mid Dec, eeling along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel complex.

Hoping to top that this year.

You fishing below the lake? Those fish are in the river year round. No big fish left in the lake.

Striper of course
Bigguns start showing up in the lower Chesapeake in mid November. Early Dec it will be on like donkey kong. We're in the process of selling our house, though, for our Tejas move...so my striper season is very fluid right now...

Me and some buds have done a lot of striper fishing on the lake in the last 10 years and haven't weighed anything over 20lbs. The average big fish is about 18lbs. On a larger trophy level I weighed a 12.5lb hyrbid on certified scales two springs back and there are a lot of 8-10lb hybrids. There are still 30+lb fish in the river below the lake but you need patience.
