SEC/Big 12 Debate.
I want to hear all the reasons why the SEC is better then the Big 12 and why the Big 12 is better then the SEC. From what I can see these two are flip flopped. One is all about the Offense and the other is all about the Defense. The Big 12 is fun to watch on Tv and the SEC can be boring. And yes when the Big 12 and SEC meet the D normally dominates for the SEC and thats how you win the game by turn overs and pinning them deep. The Big 12 does have some teams that could match the SEC power houses but you will never see them play each other during the regular season because no one wants that loss on there schedual and that physical pounding before entering confrence play. We will never know what confrence is better or what confrences are equal untill we get a playoff and big teams can schedual more then 2 big non confrence games and still have a chance for the national title.

Big 12 started in 1996. Since then they have won 3 national championships in football. SEC has won 6 national championships. I don't think there's much discussion based on the final rankings each year.

Because the whole Big 12 North is a joke. SEC is pretty legit top to bottom.

A lot of parady in SEC and like the above poster said, top to bottom it's very good. Consider this, Tennessee, an SEC bottom dweller plays @ Alabama, a team on top of the SEC. They lose by 2 and have a chance to win at the end. The spread was 14 points. Let's say Iowa St. or Colorado plays @ Texas. Well, CU already did and were 32 pt dogs and played well but Texas sucked that game. You get the idea. Better coaches, better defenses, and better athletes. I will be the first to tell you that the state of Texas has the best HS football athletes. A few go to LSU and other SEC schools, but most go to Big 12 schools. Besides Texas and California, the next best HS recruit come from the states in the SEC. Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, etc... Not Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado....

SEC has two teams that have won the NC since 96....LSU and Florida.
B12 has had 3 teams win the NC...Texas, OU and Nebraska
ACC,1, Florida State
Big East,1, Miami
Pac 10, 1, USC
B10, 1, Ohio State.
That about summarizes the list of elite teams in the country for the last decade or so, and a couple are over-the-hill. As you can see, it doesn't take long to call the roll. SEC has two of them.
The way things are going this year, it likely will be one of the usual suspects again. Its not about conference, its about teams.

What about TENN in 1998 and that the MNC has been won (or at least shared) 6 times by the SEC since 1996?

Since when are South Carolina, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Miss State or Arkansas legit? Just asking.

Since when? How about since Arkansas, the 7th or 8th best team in the conference beat Texas A&M, the 7th or 8th best team in their conference by 4 touchdowns on a nuetral site. Oh, and SC and Ole Miss are ranked to, that might mean something.
