Hit the water around 1:30pm. Set my jugs and relaxed a bit. While waiting for jugs to soak we trolled around a bit and caught a nice striper. When we returned we found one nice blue and that was it. All in all not much activity for us, but another day on the water is fine with me!
It was a fine day to be on the water even if the high pressure has made the fish a bit lazy, too beautiful to be inside. A cat and a striper beats watching TV anyday.
sorry it's take so long to repost....I think it was a striper?? (don't know the difference) We also went this weekend to a private lake and caught 15 black bass. This was first for me, but what a great time!
Then it's a hybrid, yeah 24" is about average for most lakes. They look more like a white bass, wide deep body and the lines are less distinct. Stripers are more streamlined and the lines more bold and not broken. Bet your fish smacked the bait fought hard huh? Hybrids are very tough fighting fish.
On Lake Conroe chances are they will be a hybrid, much more of them in the lake than stripers, just the opposite on Livingston.
