Party Boat Report 5/21
We arrived in Newburyport at around 6:45 and boarded the Challenger with a group from my school. Unfortunatly a nor' easter was rolling in today. The weather called for 8 - 10's by the end of day, which brought a little smile to my face as I imagined some of the kids tossing their cookies. We left the dock at 7 for the two hour trip to the southern end of Jefferies ledge. Seas were 4 - 5 at around 4 seconds. The air temp was in the mid 40's and the skies were overcast, not a nice day. We arrived at 9 to our spot in 230ft of water. We immediatly set up with bait (clams). The Haddock bite was consistant untill around 11:30. Our group of 19 caught 13 haddock between us, a good portion of the group was sea sick and/or attention defficit. I had two keepers along with the two guys next to me. All and all, it wasn't a bad trip despite the cold and wet.
