Freeport offshore fish/dive 8-3-09 (Seasick)

Couldn't find piggies before going out, but we did catch some of those fish that rattle when you squeeze em. Maybe we would have caught a bonus ling or AJ if we had more live bait.

1 grey snapper speared
1 grey snapper caught on line

10 keeper snapper (at bottom spot) 29" max
2 kings (at a shrimp boat) Flipper was everywhere.

Not a single shark caught (unusual) but quite a few cut offs so I guess could have been sharks.

Traded some shrimp for beer with a shrimp boat, but it ended up being not so fresh tasting.

Mondays are great at bridge bait... the parking lot's empty!

sounds good. i would like to dive some (hunt) but have not gone down yettt got six tanks but need buddy divers oh and a gun!

I always check the born on date of the beer before I trade my shrimp for it!

When we gave the shrimpers the beer, they told us "just a minute" and came back 5 mins later with the bucket of shrimp...I think they gave us some shrimp they didn't think they could sell. The case of beer we traded had been on the boat for a year, so it was a two way street....

Last time we tried trading beer for shrimp, they said no thanks to some Lone Star.....said if we had Coors or Bud Light they would. I don't blame 'em, but I thought it was funny since you don't usually find a beer store floating by your shrimp boat 50 miles offshore! So, what's the best "cervaza" to make a good trade.....not looking for cheap beer (I won't drink it either) just what'll work for a trade. I know I'll have some Bud Light on board anyway..........
