New Fuel Dock coming in Old Brazos River (Freeport)

I am excited to announce that I will be opening a fuel dock (diesel and gas Pay at the pump) in Freeport on the Old Brazos River (adjacent to railroad bridge. It will feature 89 octane gas with ValvTect additive in the gas and diesel. We will be very close in price to Kirby and the only fuel on the water location in the old brazos river. It will start out strictly self service pay with your credit card. We won't be ready until probably the fall sometime. We will have at least one place to fillet fish and will add more as time goes by. It will be a sizeable investment so I figured I would get the word out early. I would be interested in anyone's input as to whether they would come up the old brazos to buy fuel. It takes 10 minutes to get there from the freeport jetties (4 miles)

Cool beans. I would be willing to bet that quite a few would run 4 miles to save a dollar a gallon. Especially those who are burning 100-300+ gallons a trip.

last week i paid 2.54 for diesel at bridge harbor with a credit card in the store. that's like 100 yds from my house. i wouldn't mind driving up the old river at all if it was worth the trip. i sometimes go to the oil patch dock, but they don't like messing with us little 200 gallon boats and if there's a fat shrimper there it'll be hours to wait. it'll be good to have another option.
good luck

I think a cleanign station with the option of fuel would be a great attribute with the Freeport boat ramp being (my preference).

I'm putting my boat at Kirby for that exact reason, no cleaning table at the Community House Ramp and the time it takes to go and fill up and have a place to clean the fish..Sounds like a good plan to me..

fuel dock

Hey Casey,
Sounds good.

Isn't there an existing on-the-water fuel dock on the old Brazos river? Are there plans for that fuel dock to close down?

All the best,

Tom

There is a diesel fuel dock, but inconvenient for smaller boats, but there is no gas for sale there.
