Fishing 2-20-09 with minnows. Caught 9 nice crappie from 10 ½ - 14 ½ inches. Only one throw-back. Also released a small blue cat and a small bass. Fish fry Sunday for extended family. Grandson says “YES”!!
Half had not fully-developed eggs. Largest one actually took some line. I probably lost 7 or 8 that were hooked but got off. I missed 4 or 5 other real good bites.
Everyone is looking forward to eating some delicious crappie tomorrow. We’re tired of all the trout from last summer and need a break. You think 30 crappie for 12 people will be enough? Plus fries, pintos, and corn-on-the-cob. YUM-YUM! I guess if I have to I can break out some more trout if that’s not enough.
