Guys-
I've seen cats talked about as :Blues,Flatheads, yellowcats, flatties, channelcats,m udcats, whites, bullheads,et al.On a couple of the threads on here I've noticed "op" mentioned as something that was caught. What the hell is that ?I've racked my brain and can't figure it out !!Apparently it grows rather large and IS in ya'lls neck of the woods...Lil' help??
Warren-
I don't think it's used in that context, man.Basically listed as a type of catfish the way I'm readin' it.Any body else have an opinion or answer?

like everyone said op is short for opelousa but the original spelling was appaloosa like the appaloosa horse ... came from the spotted coloring ... flatheads have more nicknames than most other species of catfish like willowcat, mudcat, yellowcat, appaloosa, shovelhead etc etc.
bluecat around here some folks call mississippi whites also.
