Got some shrimp for this weekend. I want to grill them but never have. Any good recipies? seasoning or spices? how long to cook them, direct heat? Put them on a skewer? Thanks

You can season them anyway you prefer. I would put them on a skewer if there are very many. That way you can turn them faster. The worst thing you can is cook them to long. When they change color, they are ready to eat.
My favorite method is to blacken them. I use a little olive oil in a very very hot cast iron skillet. Season them with a little Slap Your Mama seasoning. Do not over cook. It will make the rubbery.
Good luck.

seasoning is up to you, lemon towards end is usually a nice complement though. i was doing one quite a bit for a while that (if i rememeber right) was cumin, salt, black pepper, red pepper, diced roasted red peppers and juice of a lemon (dependant on how much shrimp you're doing) and then some chopped fresh parsley after you plate 'em. seasoning was good, although i was primarily doing that on peeled shrimp in a skillet.
i take scissors and cut down the backs to devein, but leave shell on (helps protect meat while grilling). also, from my experience, easier if you use two bamboo skewers, side by side. easier to turn them on the grill when they are double skewered

if you use bamboo skewers soak them in water for a while so they don't burn up when you cook.

Marinate them over night in barbeque sauce. They are killer!

Here it is:
Wet Skewers
Jalipinos
Bacon
Cattlesmens GOLD BBQ - doubt you can find this though. Any citrus kind of BBQ
Large shrimp
Combine Shrimp and Jalip then wrap in 1/2 slice bacon. Put on the skewers. Coat with the BBQ before grilling.
Get to it.

I actually cook them the same was as my dove. Put a little cheese, sour cream, and jalapeno in the middle, and wrap them in bacon.
I also cook some on th skillet in Lousiana hot sauce and butter and eat on those while i'm drinking and cooking.

Keep it simple. Soak bamboo skewers overnight, or at least a couple of hours. Put shrimp on skewers.
Put a stick of butter in a microwave safe bowl with a dash of worchestershire sauce. Halfway melt the butter in the microwave on high (maybe 30 seconds). You do not want to heat the butter up until is it boiling, just enough so you can mix it up where it is a thick paste (about half solid, half melted, mix with a fork or wisk). Brush the butter on the shrimp, allow to cool. Season with your favorite seafood seasoning (I like Tex Joy, Durkees or Fiesta BBQ crab seasoning). Grill on a hot grill for a couple of minutes per side. Do not overcook.

I usually get the bigger ones for grilling. They seem to hold up better.
GF's Sis fried up some tiger prawns for Christmas. Talk about tough!
