Even though I know about the fishing results, I am sure they will will be posted here shortly with more details than I have....but what about the raffle? I spotted the "Tarponic" conpicuously parked in front of a well know BBQ joint about the time the raffle should have been taking place. Does this mean that the outcome could have been altered? I am worried about what might happen if someone not named Steve might have won all the expensive stuff. The whole sequence of destined meteorological events along the Texas Coast could be altered and something bad could happen....
Capt. Pinter won with 7 fish. Most of which were small and caught on the beach. Most of his fish were caught in the early evening on Saturday. Gotta give it to Pinter for sticking it out all day. He made it to the dock Saturday night just before 9:00 p.m. I think the big fish he had went about 120 lbs. 13 fish were caught in total. One tagged. Mostly small and on bait boils near the beach. It was a should have been there yesterday kind of deal. The weather went south. On Friday, lots of fish and we went 2 for 3 on trolling lines. Saw 1k tarpon on Friday morning. No lie. We had at one point a line of tarpon 200 yards long all rolling and when I looked toward the horizon I saw six or seven large schools in the distance. We jumped two immediately and caught one, then the wind picked up. It calmed down again Friday afternoon and we saw some more good pods of fish and caught one about 120 lbs.
Charles Park won the Am. Division with one fish. It blew like heck out there most of the day on Saturday and Sunday and made for some really difficult fishing.
Nothing big in the raffle - we all just have gotten tired of Steve getting rods and reels during the raffle. Has kind of become a joke. I guess he decided to give somebody else a chance for a change.
When Pinter came in Sunday, he had so many flags flying I thought he had stolen some pennants from a used car lot...
Congratulations "Catch 22". If I had been there I would have probably been taking Larry's back on that fight over going into that mud hole too. Young bull old bull syndrome.....Old bull won again!!!!!
