I've never been there .. or even anywhere real close .. so anything ya'll can offer would be great ..

If your of good heart and soul, Temple is knot unlike any other small town in Texas! "Treat others as you would................!" lol

You've got to check out Mother Neff, State Park! We've been having family reunions there for some 35 odd years now! And some of the kids still wind up finding arrowheads in the bottoms! We found skunks one year when I was a kid!

Main thing you need to do is check the housing market, I kno Austin is through the roof from all the Califonia folks living there. Temple is not far and last I heard it had overflowed over into that area. That's good for those who can triple the money on their house selling but bad for those buying or renting..

One way I sometimes judge a company (which may sound wierd) is if you can check out their financials. If you would not trust them for a loan why trust them with your time??

Go for it. You can't beat Temple for a good place to live. You do need to look around as to where to live, there are some undesirable places. I spent a lot of time in the surrounding areas for the last 35 years & I can't think of a bad thing to say about the people other than being a little bit country. Some of the best cottonpickers I know came from there & I picked with them. That was another era though( about 40 years ago) !!!!! LOL

That could be a good thing, think about employee loyalty. That is one thing lacking in the current large corporation

unfortunatly that's not the case here .. we haven;t hired anyone new due to budget problems .. we've lost over 100 employees since our hiring freeze

i was hired in as an assistant .. my boss left and i took over his duties, they layed off the person in my position in another city, his boss left shortly after, so now i am handeling the duties of the 4 of us use to handle .. however i'm still an assistant .. and paid as such.. not to mention it's an hourly position and i'm asked to work beyond my 40 with the understanding they cannot afford to pay me more than 40 a week ..

it's time to start looking around for something new :-)
