Auto AC Question

The ol Toyota Avalon AC is acting up. Its a '95, I put my gauges on it and I am going neg on the low pressure side. Put in 1-1/2 cans of 134a and the high side is where its suppost to be. Thinking I have a blocked orfice tube. Now heres is the kicker, It will cool somethimes and not most of the time. Sometimes it will start out cooling and then just fade to hot. Where in the heck is that thing located? I sure hope it not in the evap under the dash and its simply located under the hood, anyone have an ideas?
Thanks
Fred

Thats what i was about to say. Try running it on High Max. The damper will stay open if you do that. Thats how i've been getting by. Better to freeze than be hot. You might find a vaccum leak.

The orfice tube isn't going to get blocked unless the compressor internals let loose I wouldn't think. You don't get contamination in the system unless you blew some orings somewhere.

I'm thinking that you'll be replacing the compressor before long as well.

Here's some good luck for you to ward off the worst case.
