Tuna / Wahoo Venice, Louisiana

I still have open dates for the Lump season out of Venice, Louisiana! Soon the yellowfin will show up in big numbers! The wahoo have already shown their presence. The great part about the midnight lump is when you hook into a wahoo or yellowfin, most times they are big, sometimes monsters! I have a few spots open for two or three people! If you would like to go but dont have a full crew, this may work for you! We will target the lump but we will also do a little trolling for wahoo!

If you are fishing your own boat, you may try pulling the Braid Marauder for wahoo! This and a Mann Stretch 30 are probably my two favorite wahoo baits!

If you plan to fish the lump, remember to keep a little distance between your boat and your neighbors boat. Also, make sure you have the proper equipment for the lump! This includes safety equipment. Nothing is worst than spending all of that money to get there and not having what you need to do it right!

That wasn't fog, it was smoke from Eugene's cooking!!

Just messing Eugene - Scott tells me you are QUITE the cook.

I need to pick your brain on a couple of good Wahoo recipies - I have about 100# of Wahoo in the freezer that Eddie Burger put us on last month.

Yes- you can either buy them online or we just stopped in Baton Rouge at the WalMart and got groceries, beer, and the fishing liscenses there - just tell them what day(s) you need them for.

Yes, you will need a Louisiana Fishing License if you launch in Louisiana! If you are on a charter, you can get one for $5.

You can get a 3 day guide license if you use the guide license number of the person you are chartering with. It will cost you just over 8 dollars if you use a credit card and phone it in. The # to call is 1-888-765-2602. You can pick it up at any walmart and acadamy in the state or any other place that sells licenses. There is a Food bag in Venice that sells them. They are opened from 6-6 each day. It is on the right side about 5 miles form the end.
